In a commendable step towards making quality education more accessible, Shaagird Foundation and Smart India School signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 2, 2020, at the Smart India School campus. Under this partnership, Shaagird Foundation has pledged to sponsor the education of 15 students every academic year, selected from Smart India School.
This MoU reflects a shared vision between both institutions: to bridge the educational gap for students from underprivileged backgrounds and empower them with the tools they need to succeed in life. Through this collaboration, students will receive comprehensive support including tuition fees, study materials, and other essential academic resources.
The signing ceremony was attended by members of both organizations, including trustees, school faculty, social workers, and members of the media. The atmosphere was one of hope, purpose, and commitment to a brighter future for children in need.
Mr. Imran Ansari, Founder of Shaagird Foundation, spoke at the event, stating,
“Education is not a privilege, it is a right. With this partnership, we aim to ensure that financial hardships do not stop children from getting the education they deserve. This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to support grassroots educational development in India.”
Representatives from Smart India School also shared their enthusiasm. Mrs. Neelam Verma, Principal of Smart India School, added, “We are proud to partner with Shaagird Foundation. Their support will not only uplift these children but also inspire others in the community to value education. Together, we are planting seeds for long-term social change.”
The students will be selected annually based on financial need, academic performance, and dedication to learning. By committing to sponsor 15 students each year, Shaagird Foundation aims to gradually build a larger pool of educated, empowered youth who can contribute meaningfully to society. This partnership is more than a financial pledge—it is a promise to nurture potential, support families, and bring lasting impact to the lives of children who deserve a chance to dream and achieve.
