Taking a crucial step toward accessible healthcare for all, the Shaagird Foundation organized a Free Medical Camp in Loni, Ghaziabad. Held on Sunday, August 3, the health camp offered free consultations, basic diagnostic services, medicines, and health awareness sessions to over 150 underprivileged residents, including children, women, and elderly citizens.
The camp was part of the Shaagird Foundation’s ongoing mission to address the healthcare gap in economically weaker regions, where access to professional medical help is often a distant reality. In a single day, the camp managed to provide not just medical attention but also reassurance, education, and a renewed sense of community support.
The day began early, full of enthusiasm and excitement, with volunteers setting up registration desks, health booths, and consultation spaces by 8:00 AM. Meanwhile, a sense of curiosity swept over the local residents who began arriving soon after, many carrying long-ignored ailments and unanswered questions. The medical team included medical professionals Dr. Asif and Dr. Subhan Parvej.
“The idea is to offer more than a check-up. It’s about building confidence in people that their health matters, no matter their income or background,” said Dr. Asif.
Services Provided
The camp featured a range of medical services tailored to the local population’s needs: general physical examinations, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, pediatric assessments, and nutritional advice. The camp also incorporated a corner for the ‘Mother and Child Health Corner,’ where young mothers received antenatal advice, child nutrition guidance, and basic supplements.
Real Impact, Real Stories
What made the day most memorable was that for many attendees, this camp marked their first medical consultation in years. Health infrastructure in many parts of Loni remains inadequate, forcing residents to depend on costly private clinics or unqualified local healers.
Aamir, 58, came in complaining of continuous fatigue. He was diagnosed with nutrient deficiency and immediately given medication and lifestyle guidance. “I did not know anything like this even existed. I am glad I am being treated for free,” he said.
