Asad’s Life From Shaagird Lenses

In the lanes of Loni lies the young, colorful personality of Asad, a seven year boy whose eyes hold more stories than his age. His mother, Aisha* is a rape survivor who fought a decade-long journey for justice.

Asad grew up seeing his  mother’s battle and unwavering courage, and there he found his best friend, his mother. Mature than his age, he holds a persona that encompasses an ocean of skills and talents.

He envisions a life where he gives love, respect, honour, and everything else to his mother. He aims to be a doctor so that he can “treat his mother whenever she is ill.” he told the Shaagird Foundation.

Crystal clear in his mission, he comes to Sunrise Public School, a place solely dedicated to ambitious students who envision embarking on a journey of dreams but life’s unfortunate events restrict them financially from gaining education. At Sunrise Public School, incorporated by the Shaagird Foundation, children of Delhi Pogrom 2020 and survivors of other horrific episodes of life are provided with education for free.

Asad uses this opportunity as a beacon of hope for his dreams; he studies here with full concentration and always achieves the highest marks in his class.

To erase his mother’s terrific history of rape and the aftermath of the incident, he provides solace to her by spending time and lending ears whenever she needs.

He narrates their bond by highlighting the beautiful events of their lives. He told us that he paints  with her mother and she teaches him whatever he studies at school. The charisma of their bonds becomes stronger when they together eat biryani cooked by Aisha, preceding this Asad gives a massage to her with her tiny hands  and a big heart.

Asad is a sky full of stars, and he wants to add the moon to his life with the assistance of Sunrise Public School. He said, “I’m happy to be a part of this school, and I thank Aasif Bhai for helping me throughout.”

The Shaagird Foundation is happy to have a student like him and wishes to see him become a successful doctor.
